Show Road Construction Update At Bryce Canyon Nat'l Park BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK Visitors to Bryce Canyon National Park are being encouraged to use the shuttle system to view the park's attractions for the next three weeks. Starting July 24, the main park road beyond the "Y" at Inspiration Point and Paria View was closed to visitors due to the reconstruction of the Farvicw Point parking area. Road construction projects continue con-tinue at Bryce Canyon National Park on the southernmost eight miles of the main park road from Farview Point to Rainbow Point and at Bryce Point parking area. The current phase of construction on the main park road will be finished in approximately three weeks. It will then be reopened to allow visitor access to Swamp Canyon and Farvicw Point parking areas once again. The park's most popular viewpoints, view-points, Fairyland, Sunrise, Sunset, Inspiration and Paria will remain open, 't Access to the Visitor Center, Campgrounds, Bryce Canyon Lodge, and Canyon Trail Rides operations op-erations will not be affected during the closure period. Visitor information informa-tion regarding backcountry permits and access may be obtained at the park Visitor Center. The shuttle operates daily, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Labor Day. Times and fees are posted throughout the park at shuttle stops, which include the park Visitor Center, Campgrounds, Bryce Canyon Lodge and various viewpoints that will be open. The park is preparing to meet the needs of visitors during this time period through the following measures; placing park rangers at various locations throughout the park to assist visitors with parking and alternative routes to access viewpoints, recommending visitors use the shuttle service, and encouraging encour-aging visitors to park at the main staging area for the shuttle outside the park at Ruby's Inn. |
