Show Tropic Topics Ella Adair 679-8648 LaVel Baugh, Grand Canyon visited his parents, the Sherman Baughs. Gloria Chynoweth, Ann Griffin, Ora Brinkerhoff, Amplus LeFevre and several other Tropic people were in Cedar City during the week. Larry Adair and Bonnie Miles visited with the Arnold Adairs. Mr. and Mrs. Matland Baugh visited in Las Vegas with daughter Kelly. VerDella and Minnie Nielsen returned to Ogden with Ron McGee to spend the Christmas holidays. Tropic senior citizens will have their Christmas party on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at 6 p.m. Kenneth Alvey spent the weekend with the Royal Alveys. Jerry Meacham spent a week with his father Malen. Stan Mecham had surgery on his hand at Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake City. He is at home recovering from the operation. Mr. and Mrs. Clive Bybee received word that they have a new grandson, born to Mr. and Mrs. Gary Bybee. Mr. and Mrs. Lanny Littlefield and Mr. and Mrs. Danny Carter were at the Norm Littlefield home. Lanny had taken his son to the Missionary Training Center in Provo, where he will receive training prior to leaving on his LDS mission. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Memmott visited with the Sandburg family. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Jolley visited with the Earl Jolleys and attended sacrament meeting in Tropic. A ward temple excursion will be held Dec. 15. Services were held for the first time Sunday in the new Tropic LDS chapel. A capacity crowd was in attendance for all meetings. The choir sang "Bless this House" for the opening hymn. Speakers were Crystal Mangum, Sean Stewart, Grace Sanger, Rex Sandburg and Joe Sandburg. Lonny Pollock gave his daughter Shain, her name and a blessing, and Alfred Foster gave his baby the name Jana Lynn and a blessing. Many former Tropic ward members came for the first meeting. Ed and Camille Shakespear visited with the E. R. Shakespears. |
