Show Lions Join VFW To Aid Blind Youth The Panguitch Lions Club voted unanimously Monday night to join the local chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars as cosponsors of its fund raising drive to purchase sonic glasses for Peter Frandsen, a young man blind since birth. Lion President Bruce Fullmer noted that the Lions Club is traditionally heavily Involved in fund raising for projects relating to eye care and stressed that the Lions have always supported projects for ,the blind and for special care of the eyes. The Lions Club will match contributions from any other source, stated Fullmer. We further challenge everyone to join with us in completing this project by Dec. 24, he concluded. Total cost of the project is approximately $3,200. A trust account has been set up at Zions Bank in the name of Peter Frandsen for the acquisition of the special glasses which are claimed to be superior in use to seeing-eye dogs for the independent blind person. Young Frandsen is a junior at Panguitch High School. |
