Show School District Sets Goals For School Year A set of goals for Garfield County School District were released by the district office for the 1983-84 school year. The district's building needs will be analyzed and prioritized as to health and safety needs and growth needs. The school district will reevaluate whether to go for another bond election or go on a pay-as-you-go building program, with a decision expected by February. Before the end of the current school year, all district schools are expected to demonstrate and have in place assertive discipline programs based upon information given out at the inservice presentation and followup written information. All schools which house grades 7 through 12 will have in place and oeprating the state and-or district Teacher Advisory program. At least 75 percent of the requirements of the district's Student Advisory Handbook will be operable before the end of the school year. The district has stated that the math and reading national percentile scores will improve by two percentile points for each student during the 1983-84 school year. |
