Show BLM Accepting Requests for Tree Permits BLM's Richfield District will begin to accept requests for individual Christmas tree permits on November 10. Requests can be made in person or by letter to any of the district's five offices located at: 180 North 100 East, Richfield for the Sevier River Resource Area; P.O. Box 99, Hanksville for the Henry Mountain Resource Area (Miners Mountain Chaining Pinyon and Juniper on the Henry Mountains); and 150 East 900 North, Richfield for the Richfield District office. Tree permits will be sold for $2.00. Only one permit will be sold per family or household, and only one permit per letter request. Any letter requests received prior to November 10th will be returned to the sender. The House Range and Sevier River Resource Areas are limiting their number of permits to 500 in each area. These will be sold on a "first-come, first-served" basis. Persons requesting trees in these areas may wish to list an alternative area for their permit in case the permits are sold out. The permits must be used in the designated areas sold. A map will be provided with each permit showing the authorized cutting area. However, one should have an idea of the area in which they wish to cut a tree prior to purchasing a permit. |
