Show Panguitch Girl Is Homecoming Hopeful It will be carnival time for children up to 14 years of age Nov. 16 when the Panguitch High School Bobettes sponsor the fund raising event at the Social Hall. The after-school carnival will start at 4 p.m. and end at 7 p.m., with lively activities planned from start to finish. Special booths will feature a sponge throw, basketball throw, fortune teller, cupcake walks, dart throw, penny throw, and a fish pond. A variety of goodies will also be sold while the games are underway and many special prizes await carnival-goers. Funds will be used toward purchase of new uniforms for the Bobettes. The group has raised approximately $600 of the $3,000 they need for the uniforms and extend thanks to those who participated in their recent seafood sale at which they raised slightly over $100. The Bobettes will perform for the first time this season at two home games on Nov. 18 and 19 when Parowan plays Panguitch on Friday and Milford on Saturday. The group practices an hour a day during school and at least two nights a week. With one of the largest groups ever this year, and one of the youngest overall, the girls found there were just not enough uniforms to go around. Over half the group are first year members this season. The new uniforms will be sequined-covered and promise to show the talented hard-working girls at their best. Advisor to the group is Diane Johnson and her assistant is Marlene Miller. |
