Show Wilderness To Be Subject OfBLMMeet A public meeting has been scheduled in Salt Lake City by the Bureau of Land Management to accept public comment on proposed regulations concerning how BLM should manage potential wilderness areas. According to Paul L. Howard, BLM Utah state director, the meeting will be February 27 at 7 p.m. in the Salt Palace Little Theater, 100 South West Temple. Anyone wishing to speak at that meeting should contact the BLM Utah state office (524-4227) before February 23. Speakers will be asked to limit their comments to 10 minutes and to submit a written copy of their remarks for the record. If they prefer, people may submit written comments directly to the BLM director. Comments concerning the interim management policies should be addressed to the BLM Director (210), 18th and C Streets, N.W., Washington D.C. 20240. Comments about the proposed mining regulations should be addressed to the BLM Director (303), 18th and C Streets N.W., Washington, D.C. 20240. The comment period is open until March 14, Howard noted. Comments will be considered by BLM personnel in formulating final wilderness interim management policy and mining regulations. The wilderness proposals are covered in two separate documents. One document involves the interim management policy and guidelines for all activities on the public lands during the wilderness review.
