Show Escalante Chit Chat Had one nice ttorm then the wind took over again and it was not a warm wind. Sloane Porter took hit grandparents, Rol and Mina to Provo for Rols checkup, he was in good shape. LaFaye Bailey took her parenU, Clyde and Llllie Spencer to Richfield to meet other family members who took them to Provo where Clyde had a checkup. Reed Wooley is still in a brace but getting out and around some. Orilla Cowles came home all smiles, they told her she did not need surgery, at least not now. Fay Alvey m-481 The Cowles home and Margean Coleman had Sheri Michelangelo here for the weekend. Leah Griffin took Laura Baker to Cedar City for eye surgery, Patrice Griffin brought her home when she came for the weekend. Leah went on to St. George and visited Ann and Val Haws. Ann and son came here for the weekend. Vera Davis gets out some but moves very carefully. ParenU of Brent Cottam and Johnny Alvey got word that the two had met in Australia and what a thrill it was. Johnny was put in as senior companion. Ora Schow had business in Salt Lake City so took Twila Mclnelly and Evadean Listen to visit family members. The Delane Griffins had his sister, Floy Mitchell and son, Steven here starting the project of building a home on the Griffin property South of town. Walt Dane flew back to New England to visit his mother and see what snow looks like. The Riding Club met at the Double D Cafe to plan the coming race meet in May, committees were appointed to get things rolling. The James Mclnellys had Vern and Kathy home for the weekend. Millie does quite well on the crutches but has no desire to form a lasting attachment. The Arnold Buttons had son Lynn and family here from Cedar City for the weekend. Dee and Elda Haws had business in Richfield. Lera and Corinne Scow of Salt Lake City spent several days here at the Jim Gates home. Erma Gates accompanied them back North. Arnold and Deon Alvey spent part of last week in Salt Gulch cleaning etc. Denise and Raylene Alvey went to Salt Lake City and enroute home met Janeen Duncan and brought her heme for a visit. The Junior Prom was an outstanding event; beautiful decorations, good music and a big crowd. DUP meeting was held off schedule but nevertheless enjoyable. The Chase Shurtz home had Marion and Gary Milk from Salt Lake City, Dennis and Sara Cowles and son from Nephi, then they called the other family members who were elsewhere. David and Yulonda were In Mexico City and met Joe and Rhoda Allen, a pleasant surprise for all concerned. Helen practically lost her voice, could it have been caused by excessive use? A former resident won honors in southern California, Brian George, son of Homer and the late Clema George was voted all star most valuable player It is a church tournament of fellows from 18 to 26, there are 300 wards participating and he played guard for the Valencia Ward. Homer and his current wife flew from Salt Lake City to California to see him play, It was fast meeting Sunday and the baby girl of Dave and Holly Adams was christened and given the name of Amy Lynn by the proud father. He was assisted by his brother Tebbs and Tebb's son-in-law, Jeff Johnson. Jeff and Tebbs had their wives along and they visited at the Adams home. Dave trade the Maverick for a bus now that his family has increased. Anthony Coombs drove the minibus and took a load of Senior citizens to Tropic for the Glaucoma clinic, Whitey Porter took a car load. The Pat Cophlin home was the scene of a doubleheader party Saturday night. It was a combination birthday party for Neta Reeder and a farewell party for Charley and Beverly Orritt and boys. The Orrets are moving to Salt Lake City in the Holladay area. Beverly Kuhns was chief cook and engineer, with moral support by Bill. Eating your words is difficult they stick when they ought to slide, and it becomes much harder when they get mixed up with your pride. |
