Show PROMOTED TO COLONEL Mr. and Mrs. Lovell Monroe Twitchell of Escalante received word recently that their son, Alvin, was promoted to Colonel In the U.S. Air Force. Colonel Twitchell Is presently assigned to the Rome Air Development Center at Griffiss AFB, New York, as Chief of the Communications and Navigation Division. A 27-year veteran of the Air Force who served in both the Korean and Vietnam conflicts, Colonel Twitchell is rated as a Navigator as well as a Command Pilot and has over 5,000 flying hours in numerous multi-egnlne aircraft. During his military career, he served as Plans Officer, Engineering Liason Officer, Assistant Director and Director of Systems Engineering with US-AF Security Service Command, and as Director of the Readiness' Training Unit and Chief of Combat Operations with Tactical Airlift Wings. He holds both a bachelor's degree (with honors) in Electrical Engineering and a master's degree from Stanford University. He is also a Distinguished Graduate of the Air War College, Maxwell AFB, Montgomery, Alabama. Colonel Twitchell Is married to the former Marie Estelle O'-Donnell of San Antonio, Texas. They have two children; Patricia Marie, 16, a high school junior, and Douglas James, 14, an 8th grade student. |
