Walt Lelben-guth is back there for a checkup. Theron Mitchell went up to an eye specialist for some eye problem. Emma Gates Is still critical. Maud Reynolds is ,in the Utah Valley hospital at Provo, Room 231; Tom and Ann came from Arizona to help other family members get her to the hospital, while they were taking tests Tpm brought his family here to visit Marjie Griffin. Missed last week the visitors at the Stan Liston home: Lois came with Terry Gates, Bunny and Johnny Young were here, June Van Hemert brought La- na Lord and son to stay a week while June visited in Pangultch. Myrna Barker is in the University hospital In "Salt Lake City. Nell came trom Col-orao to stay with the older children and Twlla Mclnelly brought the two youngest and came home. Del Ray Alvey and small son are here at the Arnold Alveys, he is still trying to recover from the injuries he got in a car wreck. Lavinii Pollock is hoping the winter Is over; she spent two months in California, a month in Salt Lake City with Howard and Lena Alvey, a week coming and a week going with Guy and family. Guy and Vonda brought her home, shoveled trails through the snowbanks 8nd got her furnace back In operation. Ricky Haws Is home from his Job in Las Vegas. Lavlna Pollock got a phone call that her sister-in-law, Lo-ra Heaps, wife of Mont had passed away in Los Angclo, California, after a long illness. She and Mont are natives of Escalante. Darrcll and Arnold Alvcy went to Salt Lake City to get some horses that Ray L. had brought from Roy. Everett Williams and Weldon Porter arc building a rig location in the Page area. Stake Bee Hive Standard night was held here In the South Ward church with all wards represented. The South Ward Sacrament meeting speakers were Alton Shakespeare and Marion Clark, Irene Alvey told about the Youth Conference coming up soon. The North Ward speakers were the Clifford Ridley family from Boulder, Marlcne Haws and Ge- neal Shurts sang a song. Mother Alvcy and I joined Dot Coombs and daughter of Boulder for a trip to Richfield; Lola Alvey and LaVce Wis-combe and sons met Us there for visiting and shopping. Mother spent part of her time flirting with the cops and keeping the parking meters valid. Blake Robinson was also in Richfield. Leah Griffin and Nina Riley had business in Cedar City. The Sox Spencers had son Brad and bride home. The Lloyd Alvcys had son Steven and wife here. Hal and Geneal Shurtz had Kim and Vlcki Nelson, Stan and Valerce Huntington and kids home. Roger At-wood went to Cedar City for two days schooling in law, he was called to Pangultch to help with law and order on Saturday. Vernon Griffin took Mont and Ethyl to Pangultch to the Doctor. Vernon and Hazel had a short visit from Marlyn and Richard Brant and three kids from Wyoming. They aro moving to Iran where Richard has employment. They will be In tho coastal city of Dubay of 70,000 people, a mixture of all nationalities. They will have to stay 22 months then will have two months vacation. Marlyn has the cast off her leg but still favors It. They were enthused about going but of i course the parents are worried. Vernon took them to Cedar City to start the flying trip. They would have a layover in London, England. Lorell Munson went to Richfield for a GarKane meeting, Nclda accompanied him. Char- j ley and Nancy Everett, Julie Droubay, Glen and Virginia Luellyn had business in St. George. The Valley ball boys played here last week. They won tho Sophomore game by eight polls and our team won the main game ten points. Two of their players had a head on collision which slowed them down. The North Ward musical comedy "No Wedding Bells for Nellie" was presented two nights with a good crowd. It is amazing the talent of people we know, and seeing those dignified citizens, bishops and ex-bishops dressed like little kids and acting the part. Some of the South Ward took part also. "Laugh and the World laughs with you", that line is very pld, moan and It's put on record, advertised and sold. |
