Show Henrieviilo News Items t MELBA D. SMITH A surprise birthday party was held Friday night for Cynthia Johnson. The boys from here that play on the sophomore team went to Orderville for the tournament on Friday and Saturday. Several from here attended a General Stake Priesthood meeting Sunday at Escalante, Stake Primary Leadership meeting was held here Sunday. Rett, Christine, Kenny and Stephanie Shakespear from Washington, Utah spent the weekend with the Layton Smith and E. R, Shakespear families. They had to go home early as Stephanie came down with the chickenpox on Saturday. Saturday morning Melba and JoAnn Smith, Christine, Kenny and Stephanie Shakespear visited Mildred Deuel at Panguitch. Minnie Smith received a letter the other day from tho Herman Swapp family of Silver City, New Mexico saying .their son John was going on a LDS mission to Canada. He has to be in Salt Lake City on March 26th. He has been going to school in Las Cruces the last four years. John Is Mrs. Smith's grandson. The Dave Roses went to Cedar City Saturday and visited with their children, Collette, Galen, and Artoise and Ken Piatt. Virginia Smith went to St. George on Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Jolley of Tropic to visit Dar and Helen Smith and family. She found hr son Dar and one son ill. Shauna Reese and children visited Janet and Genlce Evans and grandmother Virginia Smith last week. Rob and Sally and Jane and Michael were all home from Cedar City for Wayne Gould-ing's 15th birthday. Wayne is feeling better but will be laid up for another week. Those celebrating anniversaries are Deloy and Karen Dutton, and Amon and Edith Barker. Ruby Moore and Iris Bush-nell visited Sunday with their sister Flora Leibenguth and family in Escalante. |
