Show Central Gar-field County Forms Development Corporation Thirty-five citizens of Garfield County have met twice to formulate plans and how to organize the Garfield Devel opment Corporation Strong support lias been given to this move This development corporation will be a legal organization through which the lo cal citizens can work to accomplish projects which they feel will benefit the county. This corporation will also meet the lending requirements of the Small Business Admin istration so that Garfield Coun ty may enjoy financial assistance through BBA 502 loans. 502 loans could then be avail able to private companies (or development through this corporation Twenty-five year loans are available under this type of financing. The Small Business Admin istration uncr Section 502 may loan up to ninety (90) percent of the required finances for businesses in economically depressed areas. This would mean that qualified local com panies would need to raise only ten dOi percent of their development corporations must needed capital To meet SBA requirements have over 25 members There are 22 who have purchased stock in the Garfield Develop incnt Corporation At their last organizational meeting the group voted to accept the proposed Articles of Incorporation These Articles were then circulated for signa turcs A temporary Board of Directors was elected to flnnl izc the organizational require ments of the company. The following men were elected: Leland Haws, Boulder; Randel Lyman and Mohr Christensen, Escalante ; Keith Johnson, Hen rieville; George Thompson, Cannonvillc; Arnold Adair. Tropic, and Zeke Dumkc, Bull frog Marina Iceland Haws was elected chairmn of the Board with Randel Lyman as secre tary Dale E Clarkson. Resource Development Agent of Utah State University, will act as advisor to the Board. The next meeting of the Board of Directors will be held on January 10, 1968 |
