Show Henrieville News Items MELBA D SMITH Visiting the Dave Roses over the weekend of July 4th were Max and Kathl Rose and Ken and Artoise Piatt Sherman Dawn and Marion Asay and daughter of Tucson. Arizona visited at the Thorley and Lovisa Johnson homes for several days. Clem Johnson of Provo spent several days here Collene Manning from Washington State spent a week at the Thorley Johnson home They all went to St. George on Tuesday. Bishop Bryan and Mary Johnson, sons Evan. Matthew and Mark spent Sunday here, it was good to see them again. Kay and Laura Clark went to Salt Lake City for the 4th weekend. They visited daughter Mary Carol and Joel Izatt and family and other relatives in that area. Henrieville celebrated the 4th of July with a sunrise flag ceremony under the Scouts with David Rose and Lael Chy-noweth in charge. Talks were given by Bishop James W. Smith. Kay Willis and Roxit Chynoweth who also sang song. Piano duet by JoAnn Smith and Jeanne Rota. The group sang patriotic songs. Later in the morning the Primary sponsored a food sale, there were children's races, a watermelon bust sponsored by the Town Board. Many attended the Rodeo at Tropic. Layton, Melba and JoAnn Smith spent Thursday in Cedar City. Omer and Cecil Raid of Las Vegas and Mildred Deuel of Pangultch visited the Smiths. Rett. Christine. Kenny and Stephanie Shakespear of Washington visited from Thursday to Sunday with the Layton Smith and E. R. Shakespear families; Kenny stayed to visit Grandpa and Grandma Smith. Stake Priesthood Leadership meeting was held here In the chapel Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. John Mortln and son Bruce visited Roxie Chynoweth and Lula and Frank Moore for the 4th week- nd. Max and Loa Sevy and family of Boise. Idaho visited her brother Lee Smith and other relatives. They said they were being transferred but didn't know Just where at this time llene Coffman and family are here visiting her husband Earl and sister Thelma and family, the Lee Smiths. They went to Escalante to visit the Hode Alveys. Last Tuesday Thelma and Bud Smith and Tin Alvey went to Richfield to the optometrist. Kathryn and David Pollock took Dick Gouldlng to Salt Lake for medical appointments. They took Julie Gouldlng to spend tome time at the Ernie Henderson home. On their return they camped at Yankee reservoir getting a good catch of fish. They spent the weekend with Kathryn's mother Elsie Gouldlng while she Is recuperating from surgery. Elsie would like to say thanks to everyone for the visits, nice cards and thoughtful wishes. Jerry and Dave MUlett and family of Cedar City spent the weekend with Ora and Rhoda Shafer. Thora Partner and Marilyn left for Long Beach, Calif, on Thursday with the Paul Cutters. They stayed overnight In Las Vegas with the Hugh Sor-ensens and next day took a tour of events in Las Vegas. While visiting in Calif, with daughters. Thora went to the Los Angeles Temple, they toured Marine Land, and the ship docks. Harry Partner met his wife and daughter in St. George and brought them home. The Dar Smith family of St. George visited his mother Virginia Smith. Missed Leo Chynoweth's birthday last week. Celebrating birthdays this week are Elmo Bushnell and Bruce Rose; the anniversaries of Roxie Chynoweth and Dewey and Teora Willis. Cora Johnson and family of Springville are visiting her parents, the Herschel Partners, (continued inside) HbNRIEVILLE (continue, nuin front page) and sister Beth. Sunday visitors at the Guy Evana home were Mr. Nelson of Pleasant Grove, Mr. and Mrs Rudolph Luker and Mr. and Mrs. Tine Ellison and granddaughter of Orem. Genice Evans rode home Friday with her dad and returned for work on Monday. Guy Evans will stay until Thursday, then will report to the Veterans Hospital for more tests snd medication. We hope he'll soon be able to be back to stay. The Sewing Plant here isn't doing too much right now. They haven't brought In enough materials for everyone to start work yet. However, they are training more women. Doug and Beula O'Bryan of Cheyenne, Wyoming and Jim Johnston of Glenwood visited Ruby Moore last Thursday. Fawn Gouldlng's son-in-law Dale Harper came for her on June 24th snd took her to Provo. On the 26th she attended the wedding of her granddaughter Marilyn Monson and John Ricks in the Salt Lake Temple; after It the wedding party enjoyed a breakfast. That night she attended the reception in Provo. On Saturday her son Lavar brought her here then on to Bryce to work. On July 3rd Marion and Alice Mecham of Milton, their daughter and granddaughter visited 1 Fawn at the Park. They stayed at her house here that night, ten went back to Bryce for the 4th. Nephi, Shanna and Wayne Goulding came home for the weekend from Cedar City. Nephi stayed home this week and Shanna and Wayne went back to Cedar. Visitors at the Goulding home and for Sacrament meeting were Herb and Ladora Baugh and son, Jane, and June and Betty Nelson. June blessed his great grandson in meeting. Last Sunday the Kay Willis family went to Dixie to bring their daughter Linda and baby here to visit a week. Her husband came on the weekend. |
