Show AREA SCOUT CAMPOREE A Boy Scout Camporee for all Scouts, leaders and fathers in the South-Central area of the Utah National Parks Council. Boy Scouts of America, will be held on May 2-S. according to Paul Turner. Richfield, council field director. The event will be held at Chimney Rocks State Park, a-bout five miles south of fan nonville. Patrol activity and competition between all patrols attending will be emphasized Registration for the event is 50c per Scout. Each participant will receive a Camporee patch, and ribbons will be a warded to each patrol. Friday evening, after arriving at the campsite, troops will set up their tents, eat supper and participate in the campflre program. Each patrol will furnish a song, skit, stunt or story for the program. Saturday morning after breakfast and patrol campsite Inspections, competition between patrols will beheld in the following: fire buiding, Tenderfoot knots, horseshoes, Morse code, and nature Identifier.' im. Points will be awarded to patrols for all activities of the camporee, with a blue, red or yellow ribbon to be presented to each patrol at the close of the camporee. Chimney Rocks State Park Is a scenic area east of Bryce Canyon and is an excellent location for the camporee, Mr. Turner said. Troops attending should bring all of their own camping equipment and should also bring along their drinking water. |
