George Thompson is in the LDS Hospital at Salt Lake receiving medical care, he will undergo major surgery Monday, our prayers are with him and we will all be glad when he is on the road to recovery .and home with us again. Our son Ron left Salt Lake on Oct. 14th by Jet to enter the southwest British Mission. We received a letter from him and he reports that England is just beautiful and is enjoying his work there. He doesn't know what to do about the shoes over there, he only took one pair because of the weight and he said English shoes are impossible, they are more pointed-toed than American girl shoes. He will probably get used to them and think ours are impossible when he comes home. The Allen Smiths of here have moved to Panguitch where Mrs. Smith has employment with the Forest Service. A new family has moved here but I don't know the husband's first name, anyway it's the former Virginia (Elmer) Moos-man and family, they are liv- ing in the old Hobart Feltner home. Irving and Daisy have their home stuccoed and it looks real good, we are happy to have them here, Daisy is busy working in the Primary and MIA. People are to be commended on the painting and cleaning up they have done. The Marion Clark and Norn Le Fevre homes have new paint .jobs, Ira- Elmer has taken the top story off his home and has done some remodeling and it really looks different, he has done an excellent job. Desmond and Gretha Twitchell are sporting a new pickup. The Ira Elmers are proud grandparents of two grandchildren, a boy born to the LaMar Elmers of here, a boy born to the Jim Elmers of Panguitch. The Hobart Feltners are proud grandparents of a baby girl born to the LaMar Feltners of Tropic. Beverly Davis and son were here staying with her parents the Hobart Feltners for a month. Rachel Thompson, Laurie Holly and Carmen have returned from a trip to the eastern part of the U.S. and Canada, while in the east they stayed with the Bruce Bartons in Virginia. Laurie is staying in Salt Lake ths week, Ada Thompson was there for a week, came home Saturday but will return to Salt Lake before George had surgery. Forgot to mention the George Thompsons have a new daughter also. The Primary held a successful Haloween party Monday, the cutest costumes ever. Well, if I've forgotten any thing people will have to remind me and I will send it in next. week. |
