Show MEN'S FALL & WINTER LEAGUE (Last Week's Report) Dec. 7th produced one of the finest bowled games to be ever rolled in Panguitch since the Inception of the leagues. Yardley's Ins. and Wonder Bread tangled in a high scoring affair that produced a pin total for both teams combined of 4222 or a ;177 per man average. When the smoke had cleared Yardley's had managed to eke out a four game sweep. Kaib ab-Crofts took 3 from Harry's Conoco to increase, their league lead and State Bank remained in the runner-up slot by splitting two and two with Texaco. Jim Yardley led his team with a 231 game and 555 series, followed by teammate Pat Dix with a 221 and 572 high series. LaMotte Houston led Wonder Bread with his 220 game and 561 series, and Dennis Davis wound up the scoring binge with his 208 and 537 series. Missed reporting two weeks ago subbing Ron Burton's 256 game and last week's high game of 231 for Dan Perkins. This week's Turkey Shoot saw three of the birds go to Yardley rollers, Jim Yardley, Jack Soper and Pat Dix, and IaMotte Houston garnered the fourth bird. . . 0 - - We held our league Monday-night because of the ball game being held here Wednesday night. Vaughn Heaton rolled a new league high game, a 250, but despite his efforts his team, Kaibab-Crofts, dropped three of four to First State Bank, ad now holds a slim one game lead over that team. Yardley's Ins. tightened their grip on third place by dropping Texaco three of four, and Wonder Bread moved out of the cellar, taking three from Harry's Conoco. Second high game for the evening was rolled by Evan Excell. a 210, Kent Mclnelly and Pat Dix each had a 203, and Dan Perkins, 201. High series went to Pat with a 583, follo'd by Evan Excell at 541 and Vaughn Heaton, a 530. SATURDAY NIGHT MIXED LEAGUE Team standings did not change this week. A.G. Service Cash is still holding 1st place with a lead of two games. High bowlers were Eunice Duggins, 161 game and second place series, 446; LaVenda Moore 2nd high game, 160, 3rd place series, 439; Marva Wood-ard 3rd place game, 157, first high series, 469. Dan Perkins was high for the men with 196-553; Floyd 2nd, 193-521; Artie Woodard 3rd place game with 188, and Pat Dix 3rd place series, 519. Subbing Sharon Stapley rolled a nice game of 204. TUESDAY NIGHT MIXED LEAGUE Team standings of this week: Flying M is in 1st place, 11-1; tied for 2nd place, Phillips 66 and Foy's Variety with 7-5; tied for 4th place is the Misfits and The Thing?, 4-8; and in last position is Al's TV Repair, 3-9. Al's TV Repair really bowled up a storm they hit a new high team series of 1900. Al Rheaume had the high game, 246, and the high series, 573. These scores will put him in lead for the high handicap game and also the handicap series. This team played Foy's Variety and their total of 1883 puts them in 2nd place for the team series Dee LeFevre had 2nd high game, 199, and a 519 series., Kent Mclnelly had 2nd high series, 542, and the 3rd high game, 188. Nlta North had high game and series for the gals, 186 and 515. This is the highest scratch series to date but is two pins under high handicap series. Phyllis and Coleen had next high game, 181, and Violet Robinson had 165. Violet had 2nd high series,457, and Phyllis had 3rd high series, 455. LADIES WINTER LEAGUE 89 Ice is still leading the league with 14 wins and 2 losses, in 2nd place is Sharon's Beauty Salon, 11-5; Al's TV Repair is 3rd, 8-8; Amway is 4th, 6-10; Flying M is 5th, 5-11; and setting in the cellar is Utah Power & light, 4-12. 89 Ice had a new high in single team games, 771, and a new high in team series, 2110. Nida Mae Jensen and Sharon Stapley shaied honors for the high game, 191, and Sharon had the next high game, 181. Donna Hubbard had the next high game, 173. Sharon had high series of 531 which tops the list of the scratch series, Nida Mae had 2nd high, 493, and Dcnna was 3rd high with 481. |
