Show "Cold Enuff Fer Ya?" U.S. FOREST SERVICE NEWS Winter has arrived with chilling suddeness. Of course It seems colder after the sunny fall weather and probably caught everyone with outdoor work yet to be finished. The Tuesday storm dropped 12" of snow in Castle Valley, 5" at Panguitch Lake, 10" at Duck Creek, and 6 " at Kanab Creek on the East Fork. The Panguitch weather station recorded .24" of moisture from the storm. The high and low temperatures for the period Nov. 2 to 9th occured on the same day Saturday, Nov. 5th, with the high 74 and the low 14. Pangultch Lake District Project Crew, headed by Herb Stoker, recently completed a 1 mile section of division fence in the Three Creeks A-rea. This is the first step in completing the Allotment Development program on the Three Creeks Allotment. The Allotment Development Plan was made under the supervision of Mark F. Jones, DFR on the Pangultch Lake District. It consists of spraying and chaining approximately 1500 acres of sagebrush and Pin-yon-Juniper and seeding the area with desirable grass and browse species. Also Three Creeks and Chokecherry Springs will be developed to provide for livestock and game distribution: r" The area to be chained will be set up as a Free Use Area to Individuals. Materials such as posts, poles and firewood can be taken from this area by acquiring a Free Use Permit at the Panguitch Lake District Office. |
