Show Hatch REVA LOWDER Mervin Barnhurst is home after being in the Armed Service over two years, 13 months of this time he spent in Korea. He spoke in Sacrament meeting Sunday. The other speaker, was Stake. Sunday School Supt. Bruce B. Hronek. Gai Wllcock played an organ solo. Noreeh Evans was released as Relief Society councilor and Primary organist. Lamola Burrows was released as cub scout den mother. Lilith Wilson was sustained as Relief Society councelor and Elaine T.Riggs was chosen as den mother. An annual birthday party was held Saturday for Mrs. Hulda Spencer, of Mt. Pleasant at the home of her son, the Osmyn Dcuels. Her birthday is March 1, but in order for her family to be there it was held Saturday. Her children attending were the Barton Deuels of Escalante, Virge Deuel of Mt. Pleasant, the Jay Deuels of 0-rem, Wilma Franks and daughter of Granger. Her son Kay of Tooele was unable to attend so phoned to wish his mother a happy birthday. A turkey dinner was served to 20 family members. Mrs. Spencer left in the evening with the Barton Deuels for Escalante to visit a while. The Germ Workmans of Fremont visited at the James Burrows home during the week, Ada left with them for Salt Lake where she will visit for awhile. Mrs. Lynn Evans accompanied Lynn to Springdale Wednesday where she will live while he is working there, Mr. and Mrs. Evans spent several days at home. While home the Merrill Clarks of Spanish Fork visited them one day. Karl Lowder is now employed at Zlon Canyon helping to build the new lodge, he was home over the weekend. Other workers home for the weeknd were Eric Barnhurst, Earl and Larry Sawyer and Ed Turek. George and Linda Burnett visited Thursday and Friday with her grandparents, the T. H. Sawyers. George is in the Navy and has just returned from several months duty at Vietnam and they were en-route to Long Beach, Calif, where he will be stationed. Mrs. Sawyer honored the young couple at a wedding shower Thursday at her home. Weekend visitors with Mrs. Marcie Dutton were the Jay Duttons of Kanab. Mr. and Mrs. Gale Wilcock, Dayne and Ralph Wilcock and Mrs. Norman Henderson spent Thursday at Page, Arizona. Mrs. Orson Barnhurst left Wednesday to stay 'a week with her mother, Mrs. Amelia Sanders, at LaVerkin. Mrs. Duard Riggs and Mrs. Ronald Sawyer, and their children, of Cedar visited in town Thursday. |
