Show Hatch II EVA LOWDER In Sacrament meeting Sunday, the speakers were Stanley Barrett, Seminary teacher from Piute, and Morrell Ipson of the Stake High Council. Mrs. Ipson accompanied them. The Bee Hive girls sang a song. The MIA held their Gold and Green Ball Saturday. The hall was beautifully decorated. Teen age boys and girls danced two special numbers. The Alton orchestra furnished the music. Refreshments were ser-,ved by the presidency. Stake MIA leaders atteding wero Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gardner. Several couples from neighboring towns also attended. Mrs. J. E. Rlggs had all her children home last week: the Kay Browns and the Oscar Larsens of Calif., the Dan Chipmans of Canada, and the Wallace Heaps of Cedar. Mrs. Brown and children remained to visit for a few weeks. Last Tuesday Mr. and Mrs. Starns Mecham of Escalante, Malen and Viva Mecham of Tropic visited at the Rlggs home. Many relatives and friends from Utah and neighboring States attended funeral services Friday for J. E. Riggs. The services were held in the ward hall as the chapel was too small to hold the people. Not mentioned in last week's news was a tribute given by District Judge F. Erickson. Our town was deeply grieved by the death of Mr. Riggs. The Sam Evans family has moved back' here after spending over three years away. Visiting the Evans Sunday were the Clyde R. Bybees of Kanab, Mr. and Mrs. John' Mecham of Tropic who also visited other, relatives. Mrs. Marde Dutton moved home after spending the winter in Cedar City. Visiting Mrs. Dutton a few days were the Homer Duttons of Cedar City. The Jimmy Huskins and his brother of Blanding were business visitors in town Tuesday. Karleta Lowder was an overnight guest Wednesday at Connie Lindford's in Panguitch Mrs. Max Haney, JoAnne Ha- ney and Susie Sandln visited the first part of last week in Richfield. VislUng the Haneys Sunday were the Wayne Harris of Glendale. |
