Show U.S. FOREST SERVICE NEWS Near zero temperatures have been the trend for the past week. The low for this reporting period was 1 on Nov. 28th with daytime highs warming to 46 for the high on Dec. 1st. There was 1.72 inches of precipitation recorded for the month of November at Panguitch with 1.24 inches of rain and snow being dropped in one storm. 22 inches of snow was recorded at Duck Creek and 16 inches at Blue Spring. On. Dec. 1st Forest personnel made a. field trip into the head of the. East Fork to measure precipitation gauges installed during Oct. 1965. Over 18 in-ches of heavily crusted snow blanketed the area and the average precipitation for November, was more than 6.5 inches "at 4 different measuring locations. Lillian.. Smith was called to Elko, Nevada on Nov. 23rd to attend the funeral of her grandfather Luis Alvarado. He was 77 at the time of his death. She was accompanied by her sister Mrs Leland H. Wadsworth of Salt Lake City. Individual Christmas Tree permits will be available to re-sidents of . the area at the Panguitch Ranger Offices.
