A little correction on the Bill Pain accident: it was not on the Kalbab Forest but the Cedar Mountain where the tree fell on blm, he is still in the hospital and his wife says off the critical list, he got well enough for a cigar. Just keep forgetting to tell you that Allie Spencer made it home from the hospital and looks real pert, says she feels so much better. Calvin Schow took his parents, Blsh and Mildred back North for medical checkups, word was received that Blsh is feeling better. Ann Cottam celebrated her 87th birthday anniversary quietly at her home with visits from her close relatives and friends, she ha J caught Aunt Susan Heaps now in age Meletta and Lorin Cottam made It home ok from their trip to Washington, tried to find them to get a report on their travels but they had locked up and gone elsewhere. Some visitor: nilssed last week were the William Hendersons and the D. H. Robbs of Burbank, California; at the Ivan Willis home and fishing in the local vicinity; tho Bill Vestils and family from California at the Sam Alvey home, that is their dauhter Madge; and the George Dt-aards of Richfield at the Wayne Barney home, their daughter Gene and family, Sopha Schurtz is without company for the first time since Memorial Day; her grandson Sherlll, Rudgers boy and his wife, they left and the Bud Deuels, that's her granddaughter Sharon Blood and three children of Provo. Ruby and Arden Woolsey of Taft, California were here several days visiting Dicey Porter and other relatives and friends. Georga Barker of California and Melda Skinner of Provo were visitors at the home of their sister Mariah Adair. There are so many strange people here connected with the Oil Well that it makes it real interesting to go down town. The Ken Griffins from Provo and Bobby Jack Hamilton of Eureka were here fishing and visiting; the Clem Griffins of Provo visited at I've Ernie Griffin home; Lai. na Sawyer and children of St. George are visiting at the Lovell Tvvitchell home; Hllo Boyce had his daughttr The!-(continued inside) ESCALANTE ma Newell and family here and they left two little girls for a longer visit; Ncal Lb-ton's brother Blaine and wife were here visiting and fishing; Jay Porter of Provo has been back again; Melba Gates, Hilda Roundy, Ruby and Pauline Griffin went to Richfield for dental appointments. Betty Alvey took her mother Ella Roundy and daughter Linda to Panguitch for medical checkups. The off-' spring of Jodie and Beckle Griffin met here for a reun-I ion, some of the inlaws and grandchildren did not make y it but there, were 41 present. y Dinah Christensen and Tecna Hunter went to Richfield to a Bone Twister for treatments, it made them feel so good that Teena took Paul the i next day to make him feel i better. Thelma Marsh took her father, DahTel Wllcock to the Panguitch hospital for treatments. The Sylvan Graffs of Santa Clara brought their family and visited her parents, the Mike Schows, Jim and Erma Gates have their daughter and son-in-law, the Lee Jordens of Jacksonville, Florida for the first time in twelve years, his father Luther accompanied them, tho older man Is a good playmate for Mike. Francis Imlay "and two buddies got a weekend pass and visited his parents, the Frank Imlays. Orilla Cowles went to Salt Lake for a medical checkup and to meet her son Newell who is released from his mission; the Wells Mclnelly are here, Reva and Gail Bailey took their son Terrill Bailey to Salt Lake for treatments. Nelda and Ivan Willis kept their small grandson while his parents, the Wayne Deans went to the Northern part of the State to find a place to park Wayne's Dental chair while ho painlessly worked on folks. The Garl Cottams arc here visiting their parents, Lorin and Meletta, and Usher and Eva. Lester Mclnelly and part of his family came to fish and visit his mother Eliza, and her father Cell Woolsey. Harold Secese from Salt Lake City visited at the George Hamilton home and took Ardena back with him for a spell, she came home by bus and Ruth Robinson drove her car to Panguitch to get her. William Mitchell got moved Into his own home and his girls went back from whence they came. The Donald Lis-tons came from Panguitch to visit his folks, the Wllford Listons. Delia and Dick Christiansen came from Cedar City and got Alice Ann again. Cliff and Maud Reynolds have a thirty-five day Job tending three grandklds and one dog; their girl Rhoda Barney has gone by Jet to Europe to visit her brothers Dale and Tony. A letter from Tony said he could hardly wait, he is getting a thirty day leave so he can be with her, he is still counting the days before he gets out. Some of the local racing fans went to Panguitch for the events; the brown horse belonging to Klinn Haws took second In two races. Vergene Porter, Lincoln Lyman and Larry Chynoweth went to Price to build a road that Wanless Alvey contracted from some Oil outfit. Lc-anna Deuel took her mother, Annie King to Wayne County where she will visit relatives then return to Provo. The Royal Alveys of Tropic visited his mother Annie Alvey on Sunday. Speaking of Alveys there is to be an Alvey reunion for all descenders of William Alvey Sr. held In the Richfield City Park July 23, Saturday. Ernie Griffin is home from the Dee Haws sheep herd, he liked it on the mountain. The Roe Barneys went on vacation to Salt Lake City and everything went fine until they started home; their carbroko down in Provo so they called their folks here that they would be delayed. The Gerald Barneys are here from Idaho, and Thell and Rowena are about the proudest grandparents in town. The Heaps reunion was held at Pine Lake with Aunt Susan Heaps, Clarice Griffin and the Stanley Haycocks going frcm here, they reported a fine time, Aunt Susan forgot her alka seltzers and nover missed them. In Sacrament meeting Sunday the North ward listened to Chase Shurtz and Truman Lyman, then Valeree Shurtz played a piano solo; in the South ward, Vernon Spencer brought his converts Mr. and Mrs. Harshman from Nlagra Falls to take his time, then Gloria Bailey played the piano, and Lorenzo Griffin talked. Nelda Munson and Myrna Barker were released from the MIA Presidency and Neta Haycock and Joyce Lyman were sustained as counselors to Clorene Vadrene. ' Dale Wilson was ordained to the office of a Teacher. Instead of writing down tho things that other folks J have done, I'd like to make ; some news myself and have a little fun. |
