In a letter addressed to tho Garfield County Commission- ers, Alden K. Barton, State Commissioner of Agriculture J 6tates: "We arc pleased to In- ? form you that Garfield Coun- ty has been certified as "a 5 Modified Brucellosis-free ar- j ea. We wish to compliment you on being the fifth county f to achieve this status in Utah, f In addition to improving the economy of Livestock Produc- f ers in your county by bring- ing this disease under control, you have presented a chal- 5 lange to other counties to achieve this status.. "It is a tribute to the Live- I stock Producers in Garfield County to have accomplished this task entirely on a volun- j tary basis. There are six en- J tire states and almost ono J thousand counties in other J states which have reached, this status, but one, so far as 1 I know, without adopting j compulsory legislation or re- gulations. I hope we can reach J our goal in Utah on a volun- J tary basis."
