Show Funeral Services For i Mrs. Rachel Shurtz Funeral services for Rachel R. Shurtz were held Monday, April 22, , in the North ward under the direction of Bishop Doyle Cottam. Prayer in the home was by Andrew Spencer. ' Opening song. "In The Garden", Singing! Mothers, accompanied by Areola Gates: Mnvocation. William Mitchell. The grave was dedicated by Mrs. Shurtz's brother, Wallace Roundy. All of her children fwere present at the services except one son', Alden. who travels for an insurance com-pany and they were unable to locate him. Mrs. Shurtz, 83. died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bcrnice Tuft, in Monroe, on Wednesday of natural causes. She was born Nov. 22, 1873 jn Kanarraville to Napoleon B. and Elizabeth M. Williams Ttoundy. She spent her early life in Kanarraville and lived 'a short time in Snow Flake, Arizona. On Nov. 2. 1894 she married John Shurtz in the Man-ti LDS Temple. He died Sept. 3, 1922. She has1 been an activo member of the LDS Church. Surviving are two sons and .five daughters: Dr. Lorenz W. , Sherman Oaks. Calif.; John A., Eugene, Ore.; "Mrs. Leona Lea-vitt, Springville. Ore.; Mrs. Leonard (Bernice)Tuft.Mon-roe; Mrs. Wayrt6 tlona) Bar-ney, Escalante; Mrs. Hugo (Arlene) Moser, Saginaw. Mich.; Mrs. Carlos (Bernalai Camara, Mexico City. Mexico; 20 grandchildren; 2 3 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; 3 brothers and 4 sisters: Hiram, Wallace and Albert Roundv: Joanna Barker. Lenora Griffin Anna Schow.
