Show FIRE DESTROYS H HAY Y STACK AND BARN saturday afternoon the brigham city fire department was called to perry to quench the flames in a burning hay stack at the premises ot of james nelson the flames had reached such proportions by the time the department reached the scene of tho the tire fire that the stack could not be saved however a large haystack two barns the house and other buildings in close proximity proximity to the burning stack were saved by the local firemen the big firefighting fire fighting engine was put into action and pumped water used in lighting fighting the flames from a nearby near by ditch had it not been tor for the quick response of 0 the brigham tire department mr arnel nel son may have had his stacks barns home and other buildings burned to the ground boys had left the station the siren shortly after the tire fire department returned from perry and just after the screeched out again announcing another blaze this time the tire fire was in a large barn belonging to ellas elias jensen located near the corner ot of second south and third west streets mrs airs jensen had built a smudge to the house leaving the smudge burning kill chicken mites and had gone to when the alarm was given for the perry fire mrs jensen was lielah down she got up and looked to see it the barn was on tire fire and finding everything all right laid down again the building was burned to the ground and a call calf and pig was aiso also burned the department checked checked the flames from spreading to surrounding buildings the loss Is estimated at about |
