Show Town Board. A special sossion of the Gar- land Town Board was held at tho town hall . Tuesday night of this week. All members present pre-sent except Trustee Edwards. Matter in relation to advertising advertis-ing tho town in tho Xmas edition edi-tion of tho Desovet News discussed dis-cussed and it was decided not to do any advertising this year. A communication and resolution resolu-tion from City Recorder B. S. Rives of Salt Lake, requesting the Town Board to do all in its power to create a public sentiment in regard to reducing tho price of coal, was read and discussed and the clerk instructed in-structed to nnswer same advising advis-ing that everything would be done to aid tho cause. i The resolution is as follows: Resolved That the City Attornoy At-tornoy is hereby requested and instructed, in behalf of Salt Lake City, to adviso with the Secretary of State and Attorney Attor-ney General in regard to tho combination which has brought about the recent rise in tho price of coal, and if said com-ibination com-ibination is bolioved to be illegal, il-legal, to urge said officials to take action to dissolve such combination and punish tho members thereof, as our state law provides. Presented to and adopted by tho City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, November 21st, 1910, and approved by His FTonor, J. S. Bransford, Mayor, Novombor 22nd, 1910. The justice's and marshal's report for October accepted. The ordinance committeo reported re-ported that they were ready to presont ordinance relative to closing saloon and billiard hall at an earlier hour and the mat-tor mat-tor will bo taken up at the regular reg-ular session next Tuesday. Marshal instructed to communicate com-municate with City Attornoy J. D. Call and mako arrangements arrange-ments to proceed against poll tax delinquents for 1910. Some other minor matters wore discussed. |
