Show State Road to Garland Thats the slogan every citizen citi-zen of Brigham and the Bear River valloy should get accustomed accust-omed to using. When that highway is comploted between those two points, wonderful results re-sults will follow to tho benefit of both cities and to every district dis-trict along the route, in fact tho entire county will be benefitted. With a good road between Brigham and the metropolis of Bear River valley, commercial intercourse would receive a wonderful stimulous which would also extend into tho social realm and would draw us all nearer together, ct tho same time build up the various communities com-munities Granting that tho two cities named enjoy, in moderation mod-eration at least, metropolitan conveniences, other districts lying ly-ing between could have the benefits of thom by means of tho increased facilities of good roads that would, make it possible pos-sible for peoplo to go to and from at any time of tho year, with little unconvenionce. A state highway between the two cities would increase automobile auto-mobile traffic, which would cut down the distaueri'betweon them very' materially. Then another feature, Brigham City now has a splendid electric car service out and in, but thero is no connection con-nection for the valloy beyond except by the steam railroad in the morning and evening. If the state road could be builtr an auto stage route could and undoubtedly would bo established estab-lished for the convenience of the commercial travelers who do not desire to remain a whole day up in the valley or whoso limit of tine requires that they run up in tho valloy and got back here to go north or south by steam or electric road. Such a proposition is altogether feasible feas-ible if the state road is constructed, con-structed, and of course it will bo, and thero a number of prominent pro-minent residents of tho county who have already signified their willingness to subscribe for stock in such an enterprise. Down in Los Angeles they oporato trackless trolly cars, propelled by electricity in the same manner that tho regular electric cars are operated, and the scheme is successful. If the Ogdon Rapid Transit railroad rail-road company would oxtend its lines up through the valloy, tho problem would be solved, but if this city is to bo tho terminal there must bo something done for thoso wishiug to go beyond and thoso who desire to came north of us to connect with the electric road here. But lirst, lets have tho state road built on U Garland. With that completed, the question of traffic and cutting down distances dist-ances would bo an easy matter to solve. Commence right now, from all directions, to boost for the state road up the valloy. Box Elder News. |
