Show LADIES' SELF-CULTURE CLUB. Tho L. 8. C. Club met Thursday afternoon after-noon at tho home of Mrs. Maud Somscn. Neither president, vice-president or secretary were present and Mrs. Lucy A. Clark acted as president protein and Mrs. Pearl Foulger filled the position of f ccretury. There were 18 members and one visitors present Mrs. George W. Austin. Mrs. Wbcclon read a circular letter from Emily Richards of tbo State Council of Women regarding tho women representatives to the Chicago Republican Republi-can Convention. It was decided to give, a Strawberry Bnd Ice Cream Festival for Mrs. Clark, In behalf of tho cause, at tho halt next Thursday Evo. Tho refreshment refresh-ment committee, consisting of NcllloRoto Cells Grover'and Emma Cutler, havo tho affair In chargo A letter was also mad from Donuctt Smith Kcslcr In behalf of Klndorgardcn work. Current topics were given as follows by Mrs Agues Whcelon: "Prcst. Roscvclt's attitude toward Woman's Clubs" nnd "Other Clubs and Llbrarys." A now book entitled "Half .1 Rougo" was begun Mrs, C. J. Campbell doing the reading. Doltrato refreshments wore served and Mrs. Jcnnlo Wallls will entertain tho Club Thursday, Juno 11th. |
