Sccrotnry of War Taft on Friday tendered his resignation, resigna-tion, effectlvo Juno 30, The president will nppolnt General Luke E. Wright of Tenncsseo as his successor. Tho corrcapondonco between tho president and Secrotnry Taft relating to the tatter's resignation Is very brief. Secretary Taft simply said in his resignation: "I hereby tender my resignation as. secretary of war, to take effect June 30 next." The president in his reply said: "Your resignation is horoby accepted ac-cepted to tako effect Juno 30." The resignation was dated Thursday, Thurs-day, and tho accoptanco Friday.
