Show Wall of Hog House. A fromo hog pen Is boarded both outsldo nnd Insldo with inch lumber nnd tho spaco between Is about four inches. How could this bo fixed to mnko it wnrmer? Would It be a good plan to fill tho four-Inch space with mortar mndo of sawdust nnd llmo? 1 am not acquainted with tho use of sawdust nnd llmo for a well-filler. I should recommend 'rnthor a concrete filling. As tho concroto would not require re-quire to support the roof, it need not contain a largo proportion of cement probably onu of cement to ten of gravel would bo Strong enough. This placed in between thu outsldo and Insldo In-sldo boardings und well packed, should form n solid wall and would ndd considerably con-siderably in keeping out tlio cold. I think that will bo found sutllclent, but If It Is not, then vertical strapping of ono inch straps laid on tho Inside boarding about 1G Inches apart, nnd ono thickness of good henvy building paper laid on the strapping, and noxt matched lumber, would Improvo tho wall materially. I should advise tho writer to try tho concroto first nnd If that Is not sutllclent to add tho strapping, strap-ping, paper and tho additional sheeting, |
