The Investigation wns directed di-rected particularly toword the Standard Oil company and the Lake Shore Railroad company, and was the result of testimony of witnesses before be-fore the Interstate commerce commls-ton commls-ton hero recently In which evidence of alleged rebating by tho Lake Shore In favor of the Standard Oil company com-pany was given. The failure to return Indictments, It Is officially stated, wat due to the fact that the Investigation developed tho fact that the cou;t here was wlhout Jurisdiction over the alleged al-leged offenses upon which evidence was given, and the evidence Is to be transferred to the federal officials at Chicago where the cases are to be prosecuted.
