Howell How-ell to Postmlsstross Eva G Wilcox, dated Washington, Feb. lGth, contains tho following fol-lowing facta: "I lmvo repeatedly called this matter to the attontlou of the department. depart-ment. Tho proposed route was under investigation last fall by tlio department and was reported against. After reaching reach-ing Washington I was promised by 2nd Asst. Postmaster General that the matter would bo Investigated. Tho department decided to advertise inviting proposals for carrying the malls from Malad City via Qwcnford, Skmarlo, Pleasant View, llolbrook, Stone, Idaho, and Snowvlllo to Curlew, Utah, 0 times a week. I went .at onco to tho department and was able to convince 2nd Asst . Postmaster General flint tho route should not bo established without giving the people of Garland and Snowvlllo an opportunity to demonstrate that the service could be secured from ' Garland to Snowvlllo at a icasonablo cost. It has been decided to invite proposals pro-posals for carrying tho . mall 0 times a week from Stone, Idaho, via Snowvlllo to Garland, also for a route 0 times a week from Snowvlllo to Curlew. If award of contract Is made for scrrlco from Malad to Curlew, no award of contract con-tract will be made en route from Stono via Snowvlllo to Garland. Advertise-, Advertise-, tnents call for service April 1, 1007, and the advertisement wilt explro March 12, 1907. If the people of Garlund and Snowvllle arc interested in the establishment establish-ment of a route between these two places I suggest that a strong petition be circulated circu-lated to that effect and that efforts bo made to secure a rcasonablo bid for service ser-vice between these points." The Notices for bids are now posted In Grtivcr, Hose and Go's store .t Wo sincerely hope that tho citizens of Garland Snowvllle will do all in their power to secure tho service mentioned above. |
