| Show SEMINARY CLOSES successful TERM kirk daly the Pan gultch L D S seminary restored to our school after an absence of years has completed a very successful year la in every line ot 01 work it was very surprising at the beginning of 0 the school term to note the umber limber of students so interested in tho the seminary classes although we had bad had bad uie the lapse the two previous years four largo classes hive been taught with wonderful success throughout tile the year two in old testament history is one lit in church history aud and one in new testament history at the beginning of tho the enter 3 term seminary enrollment met for or an evenings entertainment in beautiful red canyon where a splendid program was waa given around a huge tiro fire after which the students enjoyed a splendid lunch this gave us aai an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with the ones whom we were to work with during the season beason A splendid three act play was presented by the seminary during the month of november which was met with enthusiastic support on the part of the townspeople with the proceeds from the drama we were able to purchase maps and other splendid equipment tor for our classes for a spring outing the panguitch and escalante seminaries met tor for a few days entertainment at bryce canyon the day was enjoyed with games a program and a large dance in the evening which was open to the public we find out but that the seminary classes not only gives us a broader outlook on life an ex excellent cellen t foundation of rel ligou and a help in the of characters but also creates a bigger interest la in our school studies not connected in any way with ake the seminary 1 it would bo be surprising to some and almost unbelievable to many to know the exact figures of the students who have completely retrained refrained from smoking profanity and other evils of our day which the seminary has accomplished through the personal chart they provide tor for the students to till fill out at the beginning of each mouth month it this was all the seminary had accomplished complis hed we could say it had completed a successful success tl fl year but there are many other benefits which help in our everyday life we are anticipating even more success for our seminary next school term than we had bad this year as we will be more firmly p established shed we only hope that the seminary Is in our school to stay which wo we feel sure it has after having completed such a successful year the graduation exercises tor for the students completing ail courses out lined in the course of study of the seminary classes will be held may 11 at which time the following students will graduate silas Cros Crosby byl rOren oren BelH opo worth en ned MaTy henrie leora wilson omega Rigga hjames james G wilson allson lyle calvin wilson veater goff margaret margarat heywood hilma talbot and grace bartony bartone the exercises are as follows community singing arise oh glorious zion presentation of students tor for graduation professor S R hunt solo ned sargent ejk ivick what the seminary has done for far me omega aggs instrumental music under supervision of margaret heywood baccalaureate address fred G gardiner duet I lope hope worthen and hilma talbot presentation of diplomas president W J henderson community singing our OPT mountain home so dear benediction lyle dodds |
