Kellogg of this city has come off yictorous in his big mining suit that has been pending there for same time, and which has occasioned oc-casioned Mr. Keilogg many trips into Colorado. The land in controversy is on Baca grant No. 4 and lies along the base of the Sangre de Chnsto range in the San Luis valley. Part of this grai t extended into the range and waB never surveyed. At the time the grant was made, along in theOO's, it was not sup-post sup-post d that there was any mineral on it; at least eo the plaintiffs claim. Nineteen Nine-teen years ago Kellogg, who was a prospector, pros-pector, found mineral in the mountains in the vicinity and located a claim. He developed it and found paying ore and has continued to work it ever since. The owner of the grant objected ob-jected to this alleged trespass and brought suit. The decision of the court fayarable to Mr. Kellogg brings great joy to hundreds of miners, as much activity in that district will result re-sult from the settlement of the question. S. C.
