Show Reorganizing the Catholic Missions. i Rome, July 30. The Holy See has just appointed an extraordinary commission com-mission of cardinals to reorganize the Catholic missions. Two vears ago Cardinal Car-dinal Simeoni prepared and commnni-cated commnni-cated to the Pope the plan of reforms in order to better relegate the action of propaganda, but the coming of General Simmons Jrom England on a special mission to Pope Leo in reference to colonial questions, had the effect of postponing the execution of projected reforms a? the propaganda did not wish to awaken the idea that reforms were made in consequence of arrangement with England. Any suspicion sus-picion of such arrangment would" have aroused the greatest jealousy in France. Leo. who has always been in favor of the missions taking" a h ading part in the work of colonization, lias revived tliese project- of reform. The inquiry of the commission of cardinals Will, it is said, extend over the whole apostolic work.
