SpringVille in conveyances and reached Goshen last night. .They are looking.over the proposed route and giving giv-ing the contractors an idea of the work to be done. The contractors are to have their bids in by 3. o'clock Mondavafier-noon, Mondavafier-noon, at the Roadmaster's ol3-'.?e in Salt Lake Citv, at which' time they will be opened and the contract awarded. The gradhijf is to' be completed com-pleted within ninety days after the filing of the contractor's bond, and the construction car will followr right on the heels of the graders, so that the day after the grade is completed the road will be ready for the trains to run over it. Grading is to be done on an average of one mile per day. Engines En-gines for the Provo-Tintic Short Line are now being refitted at the yards in Salt Lake, and half a dozen of the nest narrow gauge couches are to be used. .', The.Iine wiJf be ninety-two miles in length. The first or Eureka division, will be forty-two miles long, and the Deep Creek division fifty miles long. Rights of ray havefceen secured as far as Eureka, and the' right of way agent is now on the other side of Ironton securing grants for the rest of the road. . .The R. G. W. track is being removed, re-moved, from the main street of Spring-yille Spring-yille to a distance of probably half a mile west of that town, so as to give the road to Tintic a more direct shoot. Spanish Fork will be tapped midway I etween the town proper and the Union Pacific station. The line will pass within two blocks of Iryson's Main street, through Goshen, then through thfl East Tintic range of mountains to Eureka. There will be plenty of work for everybody commencing com-mencing next week, and bills will be posted right away after the awarding of the contracts, letting the people know to whom to apply for work on the road. |
