Vice Principal/Council Member Trevor Powell will be coordinating the efforts between the High School and the Gunnison City Council. The Youth City Council is designed to involve youth in community problem solving by helping them to become more aware of community leaders and their concerns. Involvement with this process also helps identify both opportunities and problems that involve the youth of our valley, and gives them the opportunity to become more involved in the democratic process. The Gunnison City Council believes the community can benefit by actively involving youth in City government. The community then becomes a training ground for the development of future leaders, with which residents can take pride in the accomplishments of their youth.
