UCI North jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first period and never looked back. The Skyhawks' managed to avoid the shutout by scoring a goal in the second. The final score was 5 - 1 . S.F. STAFF WRITER Salem Winter Softball Tournament Crazy adults can still find a diamond in the winter. Salem Parks and Recreation will offer the first tournament of the year on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2009. Teams will play three guaranteed games while enjoying free hot chocolate and donuts. Teams members must be over 16 years of age. Teams may be all male, all female or coed — everyone plays in the same bracket. Cost is $120 per team. Call today to reserve your team's spot, 4231035. Registration deadline is Tuesday, Dec. 29,2009. Soaring Hoopsters This is a fun introductory basketball program for 1st and 2nd grade boys and girls. This program is a clinic-style program using fun activities to teach proper mechanics and skills. It helps young players progress in their basketball development. Hoopsters is a five-week 10-session program, beginning Jan 14,2010. Sessions will be held Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Salem Elementary from 6 7 p.m. Space is limited to .32 spots per session. Registration Dates: January 7, 2010 at the Recreation Office. There is a $5 late fee assessed after Jan. 7. This program may fill prior to deadline.
