Obituary Barney 1955-2009 Diane Barney, our beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend passed away on Oct. 3 after a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). She died in the hands of her loving mother and sister in her home in Spanish Fork. She was born Feb. 7, 1955 in Spanish Fork to Dale and Da Mae Barney. Diane graduated from Spanish Fork High School and later graduated from Hollywood Beauty College, where she learned how to cut and style hair. Later in life she continued her education and obtained her associate's degree. Diane helped support her family by working for First Security Bank and Shopko Pharmacy, and she owned and operated Kids Count Day Care, where many children loved and admired her. Diane loved serving others and served in the LDS church as a primary president, young women's president and librarian. But her greatest service was to her children that she loved and adored. She was an amazing mother, nurturer, and caretaker to many. She is survived by her children, Sean (Br66ke) Sperry of Lehi, Bryant (Jenny) Sperry of Murray, Craig Barney of Spanish Fork, Amanda Barney of Spanish Fork; father and mother, Dale and Ila Mae Barney of Spanish Fork; brothers, Danny (Sandy) Barney of American Fork, Rod (Roxanne) Barney of Salem, Blake (Melanie) of Spanish Fork; sisters, DeeAnn (Mark) Binks of Spanish Fork, Kim (Bret) Neff of Payson. She was also a wonderful aunt to her many nieces and nephews and a proud grandma to four grandchildren. We would like to thank all those who provided selfless care for our sweet mother. Her strength and composure while enduring this disease was an inspiration to us all. Diane, we love you.
