Lynzi auditioned on behalf of all the sisters, and the riding club was "blown away." They've called the Kidman sisters every year since. Kristie said they have all loved the experience of singing the national anthem at the rodeo. "The rodeo is a hometown thing," she said. "The people that come are your family, your neighbors and your friends — the people that you know and love. It's fun to be able to share that with them, and also to be able to represent the local talent when the big rodeo stars come to town." Kristie was first Attendant in 2006 and Fiesta Days Rodeo Queen in 2007. She said she started riding horses and learning horsemanship with the 4H Club when she was very young. "I used to love to watch the rodeos, go see the pretty girls on their horses," Kristie said. "I told my dad and uncle, "The rodeo is a hometown thing. ... It's fun ... to be able to represent the local talent when the big rodeo stars come to town." — Kristie Johnson T m going to do that one day.'" She grew up to accomplish her goal, but she didn't realize as a little girl that her contribution to the rodeo would extend beyond her years in the rodeo royalty — that she and her sisters would become a Fiesta Days tradition that Spanish Fork can be proud to claim as their own.
