That willingness to help is a big motivator for Anderson, who currently serves as lieutenant over investigations for the SFPD. He said there are certainly challenges in his job, which deals with investigating fraud, theft, sex and drug offenses. "When you get a hard case that's difficult to solve, it becomes a challenge," he said. For Anderson, being able to fielp people is the greatest reward in his job. "Just being able to help people — victims that recover property or some money," he said. "With sex crime victims, being able to solve the crime and get a conviction — to take care of the victim." Williams said Anderson's attitude and work ethic are typical of the Spanish Fork Police Department. "We have an outstand- ing police department here. All of the officers in that police department are deserving of recognition," he said. For his part, Anderson praised the American Legion for all that they dp, both through military service and volunteer work. "It's an honor to get an award like this from an organization like that," he said. "They're probably the heros, the ones that deserve awards." Anderson is grateful for the support he receives from his wife and three kids, as well as the support and sacrifices of all the officers in the Spanish Fork Police Department. Mitchell promoted Bank of American Fork recently promoted Jed Mitchell to vice president/mortgage loan officer in the Spanish Fork Branch, working with Linda Whiteman and Jennifer Wright. As such, Mitchell will focus on initiating new and refinanced mortgage loans. The move to mortgage lending comes after 10 years in Bank of American Fork's commercial lending department. Mitchell's previous work experience includes 17 years at Zions Bank, where he held various positions, including loan adjuster, installment loan Jed Mitchell manager, commercial loan officer and customer service manager.
