SFHS Band Banquet AXA Scholarship The Salt Lake City branch of AXA Advisors announced that- six Utah and Idaho seniors have been awarded $2,000 AXA Achievements Community Scholarships, including Sharisa Nay, Spanish Fork, Spanish Fork High School. All of the scholarship recipients are graduating high school seniors who demonstrated ambition and drive, determination to set and reach goals and the ability to succeed in college. The 2009 AXA Achievements Community Scholarships bring advice and access to higher education into every community in which AXA has a presence. Every AXA Advisors' branch of- Sharisa Nay fice nationwide distributes scholarships to graduating high school seniors who live and attend high school in their area. Cody was nominated by Kay Thomas-Perkins, who said, "He is talking so much better, and has made leaps and bounds in his education." Congratulations, Cody! Namon Bills / Spanish Fork News AWARDS NIGHT: The SFHS bands held their annual banquet Tuesday, May 5, 2009. Honors went to graduating seniors, band boosters and the director, Bryant Smith. Michael French and Katie Stanworth received the Marine Musical Excellence Award. John Christiansen and Katy Dallon received the Quiet Contributor Award. The Louis Armstrong Jazz Award went to Jacob Watson, and the John Philip Sousa Award went to Sarah Johnson. The new band presidency is composed of Taylor Allred, president; Katie Stanworth, vice president; and Melinda Lundgreen, secretary. The new drum major for marching band is Lori Swain. MAIN, SPANISH SFHS Band anc|| Orchestra Concert The Spanish Fork High School Band and Orchestras will be having their End-of-the^Year Concert on Tuesday, May 19r 2009 starting at 6:30 p.m. in the Auditorium. The Jazz Band will start our concert with "Pure Imagination" and "St. Thomas". The Concert Band will be performing musical selections from "Wicked" and "Enchanted". The Philharmonic Strings will be performing "In the Hall of the Mountain King" and "The Pink Panther". The Chamber Strings will perform The Barber of Seville" and "Bacchanal from Samson and Delilah". The evening will end with the Symphony Orchestra, performing "Suite from Star^ Wars Epic - Part 2". Orchestra Conductor Mrs. Larson will also be honored for her retirement that evening.
