Orly 159ft of our wator remains for consumption. Utah's mafor sources of water is deposited In the high mountain areas around os in tho form of snow deposited during winter months. In tho Spring tho melttng snows form small streams emerging as cold mountain brooks rushing down tho ravines to form a canyon crook. Some of It flows to reservoirs for storage white some of it flews directly into treatment plants for immediate consumption. Another source of water takes an underground course into the valleys below. This water is known as ground water. It is from this source wo obtain our flowing and pumping wellsr It is from this source that some of our towns obtain all their wator. In fact there are over 35,000 wells in use In Utah today. Initial surveys Indicate that we have a source of water as large as lake Mead, located beneath unused but arable land in the Milford, Beryl and Enterprise areas. of this untapped water Is both present and future.
