Show the proposition a 0 providing for or tile the feeble minded referred to by supt bupt D I 1 ci jensen at tile the afternoon after services I 1 in the tabernacle last sunday should receive more practical consideration than has heretofore been given it it is only nother sep in the matter ot of grading the schools we graded graded the schools so that children in various stages ot of advancement could be given instruction suitable to their particular stage the idea being that all are entitled to advance as rapidly as their ability will permit this wor work k is good so far as it has gone but better results could no doubt be obtained if gradation were carried out with even more discrimination we pres presume urne that educators have fixed s definite line between the robust minded and the feeble minded even our casual observation tells us that eliat there are many robust minded who show slow response in certain lines of study and more or less excellence in other lines these could not by any fair standard be regarded as feeble minded we take it that the term feeble minded applies to those whose minds are practically incapable of grasping elemental teachings but require some special method of instruction as a means to a fuller understanding we suggest that our educators turn to the teaching of parents no parent wil eui E ui that his child is feeble minded but many will agree that their children are slow if provision could be made for these slow children whereby they might receive individual instruction in the particular lines that they find difficult not many parents would object however we have faith enough in the good judgment of the men whom wham we have employed to direct the education of our young folks to believe that they have a plan outlined |
