Show missionary MISSI ONARI LETTER east kentucky conference august 12 1916 dear dar editor the work of the lord here is progressing under the direction of elder it al blackhurst new friends are being added to our list of investigators daily our meetings are well attended we hold street meetings where we can which are seldom molested and usually attended by a good crowd of listeners we farl however that there never was wag a time when the prospect for the advancement of 0 the cause of the lord looked brighter than today we are doing country work wark tract ing and conversing with the people during the day time in doing this much of the prejudice lias has been removed and many of the people who were our enemies are now our friends ri ends and the people will most always take us in and give us entertainment tain ment we have only been compelled to sleep out one night that was last night we lodged in a country school house using the benches tor for a bed and our bibles tor for a pillow but I 1 can say I 1 never had a better nights rest there Is a great difference between the topography climate and soil here and at home the country is just one mass of rolling hills covered with forests the forests are full of nuts and fruit of various kinds it is wonderful the many different sounds one can detect that comes from tile the var fous insects and birds here those most noticeable among the insects are the jar fly katty did and phario those of tho the birds are the whippoorwill martin bobwhite bob white owl and nightingale when these all get to singing flinging in unison they make music that cannot connot be excelled not even by the brigham city military band the box elder news Is read with very great interest among the many investigators and I 1 am always pleased to receive our home periodicals both tor for the h home aule news and for the instructions contained in their pages thanking you very kindly for the tamo ame I 1 remain your brother in the gospel ELDER RAY JENSEN |
