Show ACCIDENT ON THE 0 9 14 8 friday even evening ilik five gilld as the section gang on the ogden logan and idaho railroad were returning home from work on their motor car an accident occurred kiich which resulted in the death of lisle ipsen of willard Wll lard so much excitement prevailed at the time that it is not clear to any of those concerned just how the accident happened but the belief is that the car jumped the track at A any rate sir mr ipsen who was sitting on the front of the car was thrown lo 10 the ground and run over ile he was badly mutilated his nose and upper jaw being torn loose and practically every bone in ills his body broken relatives who viewed the body at the hospital after the accident said that their was scarcely a spot on his body that was not bruised aud and broken it has been the habit babit we are told by the residents in the vicinity where the accident occurred tor for the men to descend smiths hill which is the hill leading south from T C youngs place at perry at a pretty high rate of speed some think that the accident was caused by the brakes suddenly applied as they were desand ing the hill mr air ipsen being on the front of the car had nothing to hold to 17 and nothing to save himself froni from the fall when the momentum of the car was interrupted there was the motor and the trailer and when the cars were stopped mr ipsen was taken out from under the trailer men ran to T C youngs home and telephoned to brigham for a doctor but none could be found it happened however that dr was on the way from mantua to brigham and when he reached town the young man was brought to the pearse hospital and attended by dr ile he lived about two hours after tile the accident and seemed to be conscious during nearly all of that time considering the broken and bruised condition ot of ma ia he lida a moment aside from tile the natural sadness of such a case there is another feature which makes the tragedy doubly affecting fec ting the young mans mails father hyrum ipsen who used to live in mantua but moved to willard a few years ago lies in a completely paralyzed condition so tar far as any ot of ills his involuntary muscles are concerned and lie he has been that way for many months ile he connot speak a word nor lift a limb ile he takes a little nourishment but it is terribly emaciated and altogether helpless it is a case that would touch the heart of anyone the family have been reduced to poverty through this misfortune of mr air ipsen and lisle was the only support it is difficult for mortal man mail to conceive a condition more tended to draw upon the heart strings of humanity than that in which the ipsen family now find themselves |
