The event is hosted by the Top of Utah Military Affairs Committee and is meant to recognize and thank all military for their service to our country. Learn to catch the big one This August and September Hill's Outdoor Recreation office will be teaching classes on how to fly fish. Classes will take place on August 3,10,18 and 25 and September 1, 8, 14 and 21. Club Hill features UFC Aug. 7 Club Hill will be presenting UFC 117 on August 7 starting at 8 p.m. Food and drink specials will begin at 7 p.m. The pay-per-view showing will feature Silva vs. Sonnen in the World Middleweight Championship and Hughes vs. Almeida in a Welterweight Bout. Father and daughter ball Aug. 21 Club Hill encourages dads to treat their daughters to a memorable night at the Father and Daughter ball on August 21. Saddle up for a trip On August 27-28 Outdoor Recreation will be hosting a horseback riding trip. The trip will take riders through the mountains above Bear Lake. Hill hosts Retiree Appreciation Day On August 27, Hill will be hosting a Retiree Appreciation Day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Club Hill Ballroom. Registration for the event will begin at 8:30 a.m. The event will feature guest speaker Rick Jones, a legislative analyst from the National Association for Uniformed Services. There will also be presentations byTricare, Social Security, Base Services and exhibits by AAFES, the Health Clinic, and a blood pressure screening. Unlicensed care Operating a Family Childcare home is a privilege granted by the Support Group Commander. All persons providing childcare in their home for more than 10 hours per week must be licensed. Unlicensed childcare is a violation of Base Regulations and may result in the loss of Base Housing privileges. If you suspect someone of providing unlicensed childcare please call 777-0695, a child's well being may depend on your call. For Family Childcare program guidelines, refer to AFI 34-276, on the AFDPO website at: http://afpubs.hq.af.mil Adam's Canyon hike Aug. 11 The Warrior Fitness Center invites nature and fitness enthusiasts alike to join them on August 11 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for a hike up Adam's Canyon to view a 40 foot waterfall. Family Fitness is fun for all This August treat your family to a Family Fitness Day event. The fitness days, hosted by the Warrior Fitness Center, will take place on August 5,11, 18 and 25. Fitness days will feature fun, familyfriendly activities including a softball clinic, rock climbing, hiking, canoeing and more. Activity punch cards are available at the Warrior Fitness Center and families with the most punches will be added to a drawing for a prize. Detour due to gas line work on Foulois Road Questar Gas Co. has a gas line replacement project that will affect Foulois Road near Buildings 782 and 783 requiring excavation and repair of asphalt. Continuing through Aug. 20, a bypass route will be in place as construction activities begin on Foulois Road. The bypass route will be in effect throughout the duration of the construction project and will consist of a clearly marked graded dirt road. Drivers using the bypass route are cautioned to use reduced speeds of 10 mph. Project schedules are weather permitting. Additional articles will be published providing readers with further schedules during construction in this area. Dirt road on left to newer asphalt Wardleigh Road milling and paving project The 75th Civil Engineer Squadron has a paving project on Wardleigh Road ("M" Avenue to "H" Avenue). Starting approximately Aug. 1 and running through Aug. 31, Wardleigh Road will be partially closed for extensive milling and paving of ^he road. Traffic will be reduced to one lane each way, however, accessibility will be maintained during construction. Project schedule is weather permitting.
