Sometimes military. Even in uncertain times like these the Air Force is doing the nation's we say these words too callously or routinely. But let's think for a moment about business and protecting freedom around BY CHAPLAIN (LT. COL.) CARL WRIGHT M the world. We should be grateful for the opportunity to serve. There's nothing like it. Whenever the pollsters ask Americans which profession they trust the most, they inevitably say the military. Whenever we return from deployments, average citizens stop us in the airport and say, "Thank you for your service." We as a military are blessed. • One last thing I can think of to thank God for is our families — which brings me full circle. We couldn't do what we do for the national defense were it not for faithful family members who sacrifice and surround us with their love. Sometimes we take family for granted. Or worse, we can undervalue and disown them, as I've done far too long with my very special little sister. But I'm very grateful that, as they say, "God is a God of the second chance." He continues to give us opportunities to get things right. I suggest you use this Thanksgiving season to think about your country, your service and your family. Give thanks to God — however you understand God — that you are privileged to be serving in these extraordinary times. Have faith that the right will always out; and dare to hope for a fabulous future. 777-7000 action.line.pa@hill.af.mil A few of us were talking and we wonder why the U.S. Post Office on base has no U.S. flag flying.
