Show THE SALT LAKE TRIBUNE JUNIOR SUNDAY MORNING ——— — MARCH 22- 3 - Duck Family Builds Nest In New Straw Hard Work Brings joy To Member One early morning Nancy Duck aM 'jtolrTmother woke up while the sun was shining brightly' 'The snow had disappeared during the night and It was a lovely day “Today we wiU build our nest” said Nancy “Yes I think that will be Just the thing to do today" agreed Nancy’s mother “But Nancy we must eat our breakfast “Mother” said Jane “I wish I had a medal like some of the So the two ducks found some As worms for their breakfast they were eating their breakfast Teddy and Dicky Duck came up to them all excited “Oh we have found a good place for you to build your nest’ they cried “Where where?” asked Nan“I yras wondering cy’s' mother where we could find a nice “Washington” she had her contributions centered around that subject After they were all finished she put them in an envelope and mailed them to the little paper called The Tribune Junior She could hardly wait until the paper would come out She waited three weeks and then to her surprise and delight she saw: her picture had been printed She looked at the next page and there she saw her story and poem She was very glad that they had been published When she looked at the point list she saw that she had earned 450 points She was so happy she ran to show her mother “Look” Jane cried happily cdtf have earned some points this contributorhave” “Well all you have to do is to work) hard every week” explained Jane’s mother So Jane took hgp mother’s advice and worked hard One week she drew a picture wrote a poem and wrote a story As the subject for that week “was first" place” “Over there by that bush See?" said Teddy as he pointed to the place When Nancy and her mother got through with their breakfast they went to see the place where Teddy and Dicky had said would be a good place to build their new home When they got there Nancy said: “Oh Teddy and Dicky what a perfect nest it will But mother don’t you make!
