TORTURED BY MASKED MEN robbers maltreat two women while search ng rig for money washington pa three masked iren entered the home of miss maria de garmo in a remote part of the county tuesday morning and after battering down the door bound and gagged miss de garmo and her niece aiss lizzie hartman the only mccu pants of the house and robbed them 0 their jewelry and a small amount of cash carpets were slashed mat tresses ripped open and chests broken into when no large sum ot of money was found the women were tortured until the elder one tainted fainted and the men left miss hartman bleeding and cut at last freed her self from the ropes and released her aunt fifteen hundred dollars wh ch eb had been received the day before for a timber tract was found where the e robbers had overlooked it
