As a teenager in Colorado, I studied analog photography. While living in San Diego, I handmade surfboards, designed and manufactured bodywork for motorcycles. After moving to Ogden in 2010 to attend Weber State University, my love for photography grew when I discovered new formats and machines. Ogden Arts Festival Expands in 2019: Will take over Ogden’s Union Station June 8 - 9 The Ogden Arts Creative Mind, and Director of the Ogden Arts Festival is set to bring local and regional artists, creatives and entertainers to Ogden, Utah June 8 and 9. The Ogden Arts Festival is returning to the historic Union Station located in the heart of downtown. Managed by Nurture the Creative Mind and held as a fundraiser for the organization, the event is complete with artist booths, music, theater, kid’s activities, urban arts area, and artisan food vendors. This year we are extending festivities throughout the week leading up to the festival! Arts Fest Week pop up activities with community partners taking place June 3 thru June 7: - Monday, June 3: Rock Hide & Seek w/ 801 Rocks - Tuesday, June 4: Community Art Classes with Local Artisan Collective - Wednesday, June 5: Photo Walk Challenge with Ogden Wide - Thursday, June 6: Sidewalk Karaoke with Nurture the Creative Mind - Friday, June 7: Patio Paint Party with Nurture the Creative Mind Ogden Arts Festival: - Saturday, June 8: Noon – 9:00 p.m. - Sunday, June 9: Noon – 6:00 p.m. Cost is $5 for adults, 18 and under attend free of charge. “The festival is a great way to kick-off the summer surrounded by friends and family,” says Amir Jackson, founder of Nurture the Festival. “We’re excited for this year’s growth and implementation of new elements. 2019 will bring more community partnerships, an additional 30 artist booths, interactive opportunities and classes, live graffiti painting, games of skate competition, and a Shorts Film Festival.” The two-day festival will also include Emerging Artist area, live statue gallery, two performance stages, buskers, Quick Draw Competition with Eccles Community Art Center, performances from Grassroots Shakespeare Company and access to Union Station museums. Snowbasin Resort Hosts Blues, Brews & BBQ Free Summer Concerts Snowbasin Resort has released the Blues, Brews & BBQ free concert lineup. National and regional artists will fill the mountain air with music every Sunday afternoon this summer starting June 9. Blues, Brews & BBQ is quickly becoming the most coveted free concert series in all of Utah and this year’s lineup will not disappoint. Live music rocks Earl’s Lodge patio and lawn every Sunday between 12:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. from June 9 through September 8. Three bands will perform each week, playing everything from blues to funk, from Americana to rock and roll in a family-friendly environment for everyone to enjoy. The 2019 Blues, Brews & BBQ concert series kicks off with Naughty Professor on June 9.
